Gartner refers to Sofon for Sales Configuration & Configure, Price, Quote Application Suites
18 November 2011
IT market analyst Gartner recently published a report on trends in the CRM market. In the report, "CRM Hype Cycle for CRM Sales, 2011”,Gartner analyses what the leading trends are at this moment in the CRM market. For two areas, Gartner refers to Sofon as one of the suppliers: the “Sales Configuration” area and the “Configure, Price, Quote Application Suites” area.
Gartner’s conclusions
We read with approval a number of Gartner's conclusions, which are in line with what Sofon Guided Selling has to offer:
- Ensure that the sales configuration system offers an easy-to-use user interface that business users, not IT, can use in the sales process and model for support
- For negotiated, solution- or project based selling, Gartner recommends to consider “providing guidance and assistance to salespeople in accelerating needs assessments, quoting, proposals and approval processes, streamlining preparatory work and shortening sales cycles.
Flexible software
These are precisely the issues that we are involved in on a daily basis for small, medium-sized and Fortune 500 companies. And we do that not with customer software development the way so many other suppliers do, but with standard software. Because that is something that has now been made clear: custom software development is ultimately a dead end. The sales domain demands flexible software solutions that can change just as quickly as the world around you.
