Sofon to Showcase Sofon Guided Selling At SAPPHIRE® NOW

Eindhoven -- May 10, 2010 – Sofon, which offers software that speeds up and simplifies sales processes, today announced its participation in the SAPPHIRE® NOW conference in Frankfurt, May 17–19, and that it will showcase its software in support of SAP® applications – Sofon Guided Selling.
Sofon Guided Selling 2008 has been certified by SAP as “Powered by SAP NetWeaver®”. The solution was developed in cooperation with SAP partner Uphantis. Because Sofon Guided Selling was built according to SAP guidelines, the certification by SAP went smoothly. Apart from a technical check and a functional test, SAP looked at stability and documentation. Certification confirms the integration between Sofon Guided Selling 2008 and SAP NetWeaver.
The SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC) has certified that Sofon Guided Selling 2008 properly integrates with the SAP NetWeaver Process Integration (SAP NetWeaver PI) component of the SAP NetWeaver technology platform to exchange critical data with instances of SAP Business Suite software. This was certified via the interface scenario NW-XI-NCT 3.0.
Sofon strives to meet the increasing need for support of customer-specific and often complex sales processes. The speed and accuracy with which companies react to varying and individual client demands largely determine opportunities to score. Sofon Guided Selling software supports sales representatives, sales channels and sales offices, so that they require less knowledge and effort to produce more accurate quotations and sales orders, either at the office or in the field while visiting clients.
Sofon Guided Selling functionality includes calculation, configuration, pricing, visualization, quotation and order document generation, approval workflow and integration with SAP applications. The Sofon solution can be used online, offline and on the Internet.Sofon strongly differentiates itself from other configuration solutions, as models can be maintained by product specialists without need of deep IT knowledge. Sofon can be implemented quickly and with limited external consultancy support. Customers Aebi Schmidt Group and Novoferm have benefited from the use of Sofon Guided Selling with SAP applications.
“SAP ERP is the leading package within the Aebi Schmidt Group”, said Jens-Karsten Sievers, head of Global IT of the Aebi Schmidt Group (manufacturer of special machines designed to clean roads and keep them clean in both winter and summer). “We have profited from its use, along with Sofon Guided Selling. The Sofon solution is extremely intuitive and user-friendly. We’ve been able to easily configure machines, creating bills of materials and routings, and transferring the order to our SAP application. And I have to say that I’m not aware of any other application than Sofon that can produce models of such complex machines.”
Novoferm (one of the largest European system suppliers of doors, garage doors, frames and operators for uses in the private, trade and industrial sectors) is also a user of Sofon Guided Selling and SAP applications, with positive experiences with the solutions. “Novoferm now generates its quotations a lot faster than before”, said Gerard ten Dam, financial manager at Novoferm. “On a short term also the order processing in combination with SAP solutions will be strongly improved.”
